If you walked up to this particular person and asked him what he does for a living, he would probably tell you that he is an expert poker analyst, a co-host for Celebrity Poker Showdown, a world-class poker player and a hot-tempered businessman. Meet Phil Gordon, a living poker legend and a 6’9” tall man.

Phil Gordon has scored over one million Dollars in world-wide poker tournaments. His major winnings include a fourth place at the World Series of Poker 2001 event, which made him over $400,000 richer. Phil has also won the professional division of the World Poker Tour’s inaugural tournament in Aruba. He successfully beat out seven of the professional top players to win the professional division and claim the quarter million of Dollars that waited for the first place finisher. In 2004, Phil beat the professionals once again at the World Poker Tour’s Bay 101 Shooting Stars. The first place finish resulted in a $360,000 check and his name on it.

Phil entered the world of professional poker through the world of technology. He entered college as a National Merit Scholarship Finalist only 15 years old and graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology at 20 with a degree in Computer Science in his pocket. His fascination for technology brought him to Lockheed Missiles and Space. Later on, he joined Netsys Technologies Incorporated and worked as a lead software engineer. That company was later purchased by Cisco Systems for a mere $100 million.

After the deal with Cisco, Phil ended up with a lot of money and spent most of it on charity work. For the next five years, Phil would spend time flying solo from continent to continent, learning more about culture, religion and virtually everything there is to every nation in the world. He visited over 50 countries and has “dived with the Great White Sharks, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, tracked gorillas in Uganda, snowboarded down the highest sand dunes in the world, and rafted the Zambezi River”. When Asia and Africa had no more to offer, Phil decided to buy a monstrous RV with his best friend. That friend happened to be the poker professional Rafe Furst. They set out for a great road trip to experience as many sports events as possible in a year. Through this trip, Phil learned more about poker than he had ever done before and this is how the world got another poker player named Phil.

Today, Phil is widely known for many of his accomplishments within the poker industry. Not only for being an excellent poker player and an analyst, or for his appearance at the Celebrity Poker Showdown, but for the charity fund raisers and the many other appearances on television, such as the Travel Channel. And let’s not forget about his first book on poker, “The Real Deal” and his recently released “Gordon's Little Green Book: Lessons and Teachings in No Limit Holdem”.

You can find Phil Gordon at the poker tables of Full Tilt Poker. This is his regular hideout whenever he’s not sitting in front of the cameras or at the real life tables. So if you want a good shot at the masters of poker, this is where you should be going. But watch out: he has excellent card counting skills and remembers all your present moves, so if you want to beat him, you must think like the professionals and act like the professionals.
